Are your stores open? What are the rules for in-person shopping?
Yes, all three of our locations are now open as usual. We are limiting the number of customers allowed in the store at one time for our Calgary-Inglewood and Edmonton-Whyte Avenue locations, so please be prepared to wait outside briefly if we are busy. We recommend arriving at least an hour before we close to be sure you have time to come in and shop, especially on weekends. Our Farmers' Market location is limited to one customer or customer group in the booth at any one time, so again we encourage you to arrive well before the Market closes for the day and be prepared for a small lineup to enter the booth.
We have free hand sanitizer for customers to use upon entering our stores, and we are enforcing physical distancing. We have removed our testers and are not able to fill outside containers at this time. Absolutely NO opening of products or the large spice apothecary jars is allowed.
Our staff wear masks at all times in our stores. As of August 1st, 2020, face coverings will be mandatory for everyone who enters any of our locations as per the Calgary & Edmonton bylaws on indoor public premises.

Are my credit card details secure?
As the majority of orders we receive are through our online cart, credit card security is of paramount importance to the Herbie’s Spices team. Our systems and technology are up-to-date with the latest protection software and thoroughly tested against international standards. This means you can trust us to look after your credit card details every time you order with us.
- What is the difference between a herb and a spice?
The leaf of a plant used in cooking is known as a herb. Any other part of the plant, often dried, including buds (cloves), bark (cinnamon), roots (ginger), berries (peppercorns), aromatic seeds (cumin) or even the stigma of a flower (saffron) are all spices.
